FUEL QUANTITY INDICATING SYSTEM



All aircraft fuel systems must have some form of fuel quantity indicator. These devices vary widely depending on the complexity of the fuel system and the aircraft on which they are installed. Simple indicators requiring no electrical power were the earliest type of quantity indicators and are still in use today. The use of these direct reading indicators is possible only on light aircraft in which the fuel tanks are in close proximity to the cockpit. Other light aircraft and larger aircraft require electric indicators or electronic capacitance type indicators.

A sight glass is a clear glass or plastic tube open to the fuel tank that fills with fuel to the same level as the fuel in the tank. It can be calibrated in gallons or fractions of a full tank that can be read by the pilot. Another type of sight gauge makes use of a float with an indicating rod attached to it. As the float moves up and down with the fuel level in the tank, the portion of the rod that extends through the fuel cap indicates the quantity of fuel in the tank.  These two mechanisms are combined in yet another simple fuel quantity indicator in which the float is attached to a rod that moves up or down in a calibrated cylinder.

SEAT ADJUSTMENT BOEING 737


To move the seats forward or backward, there are rails along which the seats move. A large screw at the front and an allen bolt at the rear must be loosened. The adjustment was tricky because it was in bad shape, but it is usually pretty straightforward. We checked the rest of the components, arms, trays, seat recline and everything worked correctly.


MY PERSONAL WEEKEND 

Saturday and Sunday I was helping again at the construction site... on Saturday they made an Argentinean meal called pollo a la rueda, it's delicious!!! I forgot to take pictures. 

But I didn't forget to take pictures of the dessert, a cake called imperial russian and it's really good, it consists of a layer of cream, sponge cake, dulce de leche and meringue!!!! 


On Sunday I made a very tasty walnut cake, but I think I put a very small mold because the cake was a little raw underneath, but despite this drawback, it was very tasty. 



Finally, I was with my cat resting in the sun, she always accompanies me everywhere.

BOEING 737  My favourite aircraft has always been the Boeing 737, the quintessential Boeing model. It has beautiful aesthetics, perfect lines like an eagle. The last model B737 Max was defective and this made me very sad.  Instead of redesigning the plane, they decided to add software that would avoid the problem and because they wanted to save money, they lost innocent lives and world confidence.  Is a short to medium range, twin-engine, jet, narrow-body airliner manufactured and developed by the American company Boeing Commercial Airplanes. The Boeing 737 is the highest selling turbofan passenger aircraft in aviation history. This model has been manufactured without interruption by Boeing since 1967. It is the most widely used model on domestic flights in the United States. D-CHECK

Aircraft maintenance   checks are periodic inspections that have to be done on all commercial and civil aircraft after a certain amount of time or usage. Military aircraft normally follow specific maintenance programmes which may, or may not, be similar to those of commercial and civil operators The D check, sometimes known as a "heavy maintenance visit" (HMV), is by far the most comprehensive and demanding check for an airplane. This check occurs approximately every 6-10 years. It is a check that more or less takes the entire airplane apart for inspection and overhaul. Even the paint may need to be completely removed for complete inspection of the fuselage metal skin. Such a check can generally take up to 50,000 man-hours, and 2 months to complete depending on the number of technicians involved. It also requires the most space of all maintenance checks, and as such must be performed at a suitable maintenance base. JET ENGINE

TURBOJET The basic componets are still the compressor, combustor, and turbine. The turbojet gets its propulsive power from reaction to the flow of hot gases. Air enters the inlet and ts pressure is increased by the compressor. Fuel is added in the combustor and the expansion created by heat forces the turbine wheel to rotate. The turbine in turn drives the compressor. The energy remaining downstream of the turbine in the tailpipe accelerates into the atmosphere and creates the reaction we refer to as thrust. TURBOFAN The turbofa, in effect, is a ducted, multi-blade propeller driven by a gas turbine engine. This fan procedures a pressure ratio on the order of 2:1 or two atmospheres of compression. Generrally, turbofan contain 20 to 40 fixed pitch blades. They were developed to provide a compromise between the best features of the turbejet type cruise speed capability and yet retains some of the short field takeoff capability of the  turboprop.
